A voice coil of high performance is wound with flat copper wire in edgewise position, is glued together and self-bonded with hot air. In order to wind flat copper wire in edgewise position, an axial pretension must be available. For this, a tailstock running in synchronism with the traverse unit and which has an adjustable pretension is used. The equipment is based on a CNC-controlled machine which besides controlling the winding process also controls a dosing device for the glue and the hot-air bonding equipment.
